| County Health profiles The Northwest Florida and Big Bend Health Councils prepare a health profile for each of the counties they serve. The profiles are updated on a yearly basis, and they provide insight regarding the health status of residents in the county, as compared to the state of Florida as a whole. The data contained in the profile was gathered from numerous sources and is displayed in tables and graphs for ease of the user. Data elements include: general demographics (age, sex, race), socioeconomics (income, unemployment, educational level), federal designations (professional shortage areas), leading causes of death, maternal and child health (birth rates, prenatal care, immunizations), healthcare access, and utilization of resources (hospitals, nursing homes and emergency rooms). |
